Hess Gets Quartered; Left on Fumes

Level 18 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Eric Hess limped under the gun before seeing Abdullah Al-Shanti come in for a raise from the cutoff. The big blind called, as did Hess and three players headed to a flop of 542.

Action checked to Al-Shanti who continued with a bet and got called by both opponents to see the 2 land on the turn. Action checked to Al-Shanti once again who bet leading to a call from the big blind.

Hess decided it was time to raise for the rest of his chips and did just that, putting himself at risk. Al-Shanti decided to raise again himself and forced out the player in the big blind leading to a showdown with one card to come.

Eric Hess: A973
Abdullah Al-Shanti: A632

The A river card filled up Al-Shanti, locking up the high while he and Hess shared the same low, giving Al-Shanti three-quarters of the pot and leaving Hess to collect the remainder.
