Dirksen Gets Much-Needed Pot

Level 9

Dustin Dirksen, runner-up in the $10,000 championship edition of this event last year, was sitting on a short stack as he raised from the big blind after an opponent on the button limped in. The button called as they saw a flop of 26J.

Dirksen continued with a bet and the button called. Both players checked the 7 turn.

The river came the K and Dirksen led out again. The button gave the decision some thought before flinging in a call.

"Two pair," Dirksen announced, turning over A10K2 for kings and deuces as he took in the pot to climb back up near the starting stack.
