David "CountStacula" Powers Draws Blood On Fortunate River

Level 6 : 200/400, 0 ante
Powers Rivers Boat

Ben "LittleC_88" Covello limped on the button and Kyle "RonySeikaly" Cartwright called out of the small blind. David "CountStacula" Powers raised from the big blind to 1,600 and received calls from both of his opponents.

Action checked to Powers on the {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} flop and he continued for 4,800. Covello responded with a raise to 19,200, enough to force Cartwright out of the hand. Powers was going nowhere, however, and called off for his remaining 5,800.

David Powers: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ben Covello: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Powers had been coolered, flopping the second nuts to Covello's stone cold nuts. He could, however, pull ahead were the board to pair. He could find no help on the {6-Spades} turn but the {10-Spades} improved Powers to a full house, sending the sizable pot his direction.
