Quads Over Quads in the Main Event

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Claus Marcussen opened from early position and found one caller from late position, Jay S.

The board showed up {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Marcussen continued with a bet and S put in the call in position.

When the {k-Hearts} turn hit, Marcussen checked. S took the lead with a bet and Marcussen called.

The river fell the {7-Diamonds}. Marcussen chose to lead the river. S moved all in over his bet and Marcussen committed his stack with no fear.

Claus Marcussen: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Jay S: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

In what would often pay a bad beat in a cash game, S's quads cost him a large portion of his stack while Marcussen benefited with the big double.

Backa Among the Leaders

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

John Turner made it 4,500 in middle position, the hijack made it 12,000. Marsel Backa called in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. The hijack bet 14,000, Backa called and Turner folded. The turn was the {7-Clubs}, which both players checked. The river came the {2-Diamonds} which was checked again.

Backa tabled the {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} which was good enough to take the pot down and the hijack mucked while Backa added more chips to one of the largest stacks in the room.

Benglis Slow Plays Queens

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action started when Brennan Benglis opened from the hijack to 6,000. Next to act in the cutoff was Gaelle Baumann who three-bet to 18,000. It folded back to Benglis who made the call.

The flop came {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and both players checked their option. On the {10-Spades} turn Benglis bet 13,000 which was called.

The {9-Clubs} completed the board and both players checked. Benglis tabled {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for an over pair and a surprised looking Baumann mucked her hand, awarding the pot to Benglis.

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Alejandro "Papo MC" Lococo
Alejandro "Papo MC" Lococo

Alejandro Lococo in the big blind was the only caller of a 4,000 raise from the button. The flop came down {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked.

On the turn came the {a-Hearts} and Lococo checked to the button who bet 6,000 which he then called.

The {2-Diamonds} river had both players checking and Lococo flipped over {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a pair of aces which was more than enough to win the pot as his opponent mucked.

Quads for Truntsev

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On a completed board of {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Fedor Truntsev bet 100,000 into an already swelled pot, a bet that covered his opponent which sent him deep in the tank.

After a considerable amount of time, his opponent finally made the call, only to be shown {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} by Truntsev for turned quads.

His opponent mucked his cards as he stood up but since it was an all in the cards were revealed to show {6-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Ho Ships on Jung

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}, Kyle Ho and Moohun Jung were heads-up in a pot. There was already over 100,000 in the middle and Ho was first to act from the big blind.

Ho jammed all in for around 120,000 and appeared to have Jung slightly covered. Jung gave it some thought but decided to send his cards to the muck and Ho raked in the pot.
