Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Garrett Adelstein
Garrett Adelstein

In a pot of roughly 19,000, Garrett Adelstein checked back on the button after being checked to from the cutoff on a flop of {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}.

On the {6-Diamonds} turn the cutoff checked again and Adelstein bet 6,000 which was called. On the {9-Clubs} river the cutoff checked a third time and Adelstein chose a bet of 11,000, leaving his opponent with only 15,000 behind if he made the call.

The cutoff tanked for a moment but eventually flicked in a chip for the call and Adelstein confidently rolled over {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The cutoff mucked and another pot was sent to Hustle Casino Live legend.

Yiflach Gets One Past Vogelsang

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Lyor Yiflach opened to 2,100 from the hijack and Christoph Vogelsang called from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and both players tapped the table.

The turn brought the {2-Clubs} and Yiflach put out a delayed continuation bet of 3,100 and Vogelsang quickly called.

On the {k-Clubs} river, Yiflach put out another bet, this time for 5,000. Vogelsang thought for roughly 45 seconds before making the laydown.

Dang Folds to Ricupero

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The action was picked up on a board {5-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} with more than 14,000 in the middle. Quang Dang checked in the hijack to Joseph Ricupero in the cutoff who bet 10,000. Dang thought about it for a minute and called.

The river fell the {9-Diamonds} and Dang checked again. Ricupero didn't take long to bet 15,000 this time and Dang opted to let it go.

What's Up Guys? Doug Polk's Here!

Doug Polk
Doug Polk

After skipping out on the long registration line to begin the day, Doug Polk has finally taken his seat at the 2022 WSOP Main Event. Polk has wiggled his way back into the poker scene over the last year or so after announcing his "retirement" from tournament poker back in 2018.

Besides a recent final table finish at the Lodge Poker Club which he is now a part-owner of, Polk's last tournament result came back in 2017. With over $9.5 million in live tournament winnings and highly regarded as one of the best online heads-up players in the world, Polk is certainly a fan favorite among many at the WSOP by attracting a rail already.

Velasco Nearly Eliminates Nixon

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With about 25,000 in the pot on a {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts} board, Ricardo Velasco bet 15,000 from early position.

James Nixon, who only had 16,100 behind, went deep into the tank before eventually making the call.

Velasco announced "two pair" and flipped over {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} while Nixon winced and slid his cards into the muck, shipping the rest of his red chips over and leaving just a yellow and a black behind.

With the win, Velasco has crossed over the 100,000-chip mark.

Tsai Sends Salvaggi Deep Into the Mixer

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Joseph Salvaggi was facing a big river decision as the board read {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The pot had about 65,000 in it and Salvaggi was under the gun. From the cutoff, Ting-Yi Tsai had forced him all in with a river jam.

Salvaggi told his table that the hand would be the last one before break and with the clock still showing 3 and a half minutes until the break, it meant a long tank was to come. The rest of the table got up and got ready to beat the crowd to break, while still lingering to watch the result of the hand.

Salvaggi told Tsai he was leaning calling at first but had shifted to leaning fold. Eventually, he did indeed fold and Tsai did not oblige the request to show.
