Lococo Puts Wien To The Test

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Jeremy Wien opened to 60,000 from the cutoff and was called by Alejandro Lococo on the button. Both blinds got out of the way to send the two players heads-up to the flop.

Wien checked on a flop of {2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and then called when Lococo led out for 50,000.

The turn came {q-Spades} and Wien checked for a second time. Lococo was in no mood to slow down and fired off another bet, this time sizing up to 155,000. Wien responded with a raise to 360,000, prompting Lococo to stand up and look over his opponent's stack before deciding on a call.

On the {3-Hearts} river Wien pushed 470,000 into the middle. Lococo once again rose to his feet, pondering his decision. He then sat back down and, with a deep breath, announced all in. Wien immediately appeared uncomfortable, removing his earphones and lowering his hood before saying, "I can only beat a bluff".

"Ace-Queen?" queried Lococo. "Close" Wien responded before going over the hand out loud. "You really have five-six?" Wien probed. "You're gonna show me if I fold?" Lococo remained stoic, offering no answer to either question. Eventually, Wien tossed his cards into the muck, handing a big boost to Lococo's stack early in the day.
