Akkari Put In Tough Spot

A player in late position opened to 3,500 and was called by the cutoff. Andre Akkari then three-bet to 14,500 out of the small blind, receiving a call from the late position player while the cutoff folded.
Akkari continued for 9,500 on the 
flop and was called.
There was no slowing down after the 
turn, with Akkari firing off 18,00. Again, the late position player called.
On the 
river Akkari pushed one more bet into the middle, this time a much heftier 37,000. After some time, the late position player moved all in with the covering stack. Akkari thought long and hard about his decision, counting and re-counting his stack. Ultimately, he decided to let his presumably strong hand go, taking a big hit in the process.
