Seidel Loses A Small One

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Erik Seidel opened to 2,700 from under the gun and received a sole call from the button.

Seidel continued for 2,000 after the {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{k-Spades} flop only to see his opponent make it 4,000 to go. The nine time bracelet winner tossed in calling chips and the two were off to the turn.

The {5-Hearts} turn was met by a check from Seidel with the button continuing their aggression with another bet of 4,000. That second barrel was still not enough to convince Seidel to give up as he instead flatted.

Both players checked on the {5-Spades} river and Seidel turned over {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. That holding was not sufficient to secure the pot, however, as the button revealed he held {q-}{10-} for the superior two pair.
