Magnus Cannot Beat Ladies

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

A player opened to 1,500 from middle position and was called by the cutoff as well as Nadya Magnus out of the big blind.

Both Magnus and the middle position player checked on a flop of {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. The cutoff led out for 1,800 and received calls from both of his opponents.

The {9-Spades} turn saw Magnus and the middle position player check for a second time. Not dissuaded by getting two callers on the flop, the cutoff pushed a chunkier 5,500 into the middle. It was not enough to shed either of his opponents, however, both of whom called.

Action checked through the {3-Diamonds} river and Magnus showed down {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. She was beaten to the pot by the middle position player who tabled {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} to scoop the pot and send Magnus down below 50,000.
