Parminder Makes the Laydown

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Action was picked up with 7,800 in the pot and a board of {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades} on the table. Eric Persson led out from early position for 7,000. Kumar Parminder, two seats to his left, put in the call, albeit with a bit of hesitation.

On the {8-Diamonds} river, Persson fired for 15,000, sending Parminder into the tank. "You were really behind," Parminder told Persson several times, visibly disgusted at the river.

"And you're a smart man who folds when he knows he's behind," Persson responded.

After a few minutes in the tank, and a warning from another player at the table that he'd soon be calling the clock, Parminder folded, face up, showing {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for two pair. Persson showed him {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flopped flush.
