Set Over Set Leaves Matusow Steaming

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Five players, including Mike Matusow, Jake Schwartz, and Mark Pett, saw a flop of {6-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Mark Pett, under the gun, fired out 1,500 and only Matusow and a player on the button called.

The turn came the {9-Hearts} and Pett bet another 3,200. Matusow called while the button got out of the way.

Pett continued betting on the {3-Spades} river, tossing in 8,000. Matusow studied the situation for a moment before calling. Pett flipped over {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} for top set.

"You see how good I am," Matusow said as he showed {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for a set of sixes and slammed his remaining chips on the table.

Matusow remained sitting in his seat as the rest of the field went on break stewing over the hand. "My instincts were screaming. I was never raising. I almost folded," he said.
