Aspas Off Short Stack Thanks to Fortunate Flop

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Abel Aspas was facing a bet of 18,100 from John Angell on a flop of {q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and called.

The turn came the {7-Hearts} and Angell bet another 10,000. Aspas called once more, committing most of his remaining stack. He checked from the big blind on the {9-Spades} river, and Angell decided to check behind.

Angell showed {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for two pair, queens and sevens, but Aspas had flopped a set with {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} that improved to a full house.

"That's a get well quick hand. Nice job," tablemate Ron McMillen said following the hand.

"Believe me, I was praying for a queen on the river," Angell added.
