Ferketa Doubles Up

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Action was picked up after the big blind had moved all in for 35,300. Action was on Daniel Ferketa, the hijack, who made the call.

Daniel Ferketa: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Big blind: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The big blind got up and began gathering his stuff, preparing to leave should he be eliminated. The table was quick to point out both that the hand was not over, and that he might have chips left should he lose the pot, as the two players had nearly equal stacks. The runout came {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}, offering on help to the opponent, and securing the pot for Ferketa, doubling his stack. After a count of both stacks from the dealer, it was realized that the opponent had Ferketa covered by 200.

On the very next hand, that opponent was in the small blind, moving all in to post it. After a bit of side pot action, he found himself in a heads-up showdown, where he had just king high against his opponent's top pair, and he was promptly eliminated.
