Top-Top No Good For Deeb

Level 5 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a board reading {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} a player in early position had all of his chips in the middle as did a player in late position. Freddy Deeb in the small blind, who still had a significant stack behind, had called. The late position player held {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts} while Deeb had {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for top pair top kicker. It was no good, however, as the early position player turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} for the flopped set that had filled up on the turn.

"Nice hand, very nice hand," said Deeb as he pushed a small pile of chips towards the at risk player, who had effectively tripled-up. Deeb took only a fairly minor hit to his stack and still has plenty of playability as the day nears its close.
