Negreanu Takes the Rest From Ivey

Level 11 : Limits 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Phil Ivey and Daniel Negreanu got the rest of Ivey's short stack in the middle on third street.

Negreanu made {a-}{3-}{4-}{8-}{j-}{5-}{7-} for 7-5-4-3-A and Ivey was already turning his cards over on a board of {5-}{a-}{6-}{9-}{a-}{10-} before receiving a {3-} on seventh for a losing 9-6-5-3-A. He pretended to punch Negreanu on his way out, his tournament over after just a few minutes.

Phil Ivey: {x-}{x-}/{5-}{6-}{a-}{6-}/{x-}
Ziya Rahim: {x-}{x-}/{4-}{9-}{6-}{a-}/{x-}

Phil Ivey bet on fifth street and was called by Ziya Rahim.

Rahim bet on sixth and Ivey raised. Rahim called and checked on seventh. Ivey bet again and Rahim came back with a raise. Ivey quickly called.

"I have a wheel," Rahim said, turning over {3-}{2-}{5-} as Ivey mucked, dropping down to just 2,000 less than 15 minutes after taking his seat in the tournament.

Friedman Calls The Hand

Level 11 : Limits 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Adam Friedman completed with an {a-} up and Bernie Wen called with an {8-}.

Adam Friedman: {x-}{x-}/{a-}{3-}{q-}{4-}/{x-}
Bernie Wen: {x-}{x-}/{8-}{a-}{5-}{4-}/{x-}

On fourth street Friedman bet and was called by Wen.

Action on fifth street checked through to sixth street where Wen bet and Friedman called.

On seventh Wen bet once more and Friedman called saying "I guess you paired your ace." Wen turned over {7-}{10-}{a-} for an eight-seven but Friedman was right that he paired his ace. Friedman turned over {8-}{6-}{9-} for an eight six which was good for the pot.

At another table, Everett Carlton was eliminated.
