Hale to the Leader

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Millard Hale's stack has continued to grow in the later stages of Day 1, closing in on the half million mark.

Action for this hand was joined with over 90,000 already in the pot and a complete board of {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Spades}{a-Spades}. Hale's opponent checked from under the gun. Hale, in early position, fired for 36,000. His opponent tanked for a minute or two, before making the reluctant laydown. Hale scooped the big pot to add to his increasing chip stack.

Hale is no stranger to success in poker and at the WSOP. The Michigan native has over 1,000,000 in career live earnings. He has also made several final tables in WSOP Bracelet events, including a fourth place finish in the 2019 $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-handed, for which he took home a career best cash of $129,313.
