Chau Wins a Big One

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

A preflop raise from the hijack to 2,600 received a call from the small blind and Mike Chau responded by three betting up to 8,700. Both players called and the dealer fanned the flop.

With {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} showing, Chau was first to act from under the gun position fired out a bet of 10,000. The hijack folded and the big blind called.

Both remaining players checked the {a-Diamonds} on the turn and also the {9-Hearts} on the river. "I thought that diamond got me!", Chau exclaimed as flipped over {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a set of fours. His opponent showed {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and with no diamond in his hand, Chau's set was good to win the pot and add more chips to his already huge stack.
