Anderson Spikes Set on Turn to Stay Alive

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Francis Anderson
Francis Anderson

Francis Anderson was nearly all in for 360,000, leaving just 5,000 chips behind. Joao Simao called.

The flop came {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and Anderson checked to Simao who put in the minimum bet. Anderson then announced that he was going to put in his final red chip but wanted to wait for the pay jump.

"Sorry guys, I need the extra $500 so I can go play the $777 (Event #75: $777 Lucky 7's)."

The clock was called and before Anderson could receive his ladder, the five-second count had started and Anderson called.

Francis Anderson: {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
Joao Simao: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

Anderson was far behind and needed only a seven to stay alive. Fortunately for him, the {7-Clubs} came on the turn, drawing plenty of oohs and ahhs from the table.

The {q-Clubs} completed the board and Anderson managed to remain in the tournament.
