Martinez Doubles up with King High

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Cedric Seve opened for 8,000 from early position. He got a call from the player to his left before Jesus Martinez reraised to 31,000 from the hijack. Seve made the call while the rest of the table got out of the way.

On the {2-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, Seve led out for 20,000. Martinez called.

On the {3-Clubs} turn, Seve again led out, this time for 40,000. Martinez thought briefly before pushing all his chips into the middle, for a raise to 81,000. Seve made the call with Martinez covered.

Jesus Martinez: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Cedric Seve: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Martinez was ahead, but Seve had plenty of outs with a flush draw, open ended straight draw, or he could simply pair his nine, although Martinez did block some of those outs with a flush draw of his own. The {2-Hearts} hit the felt on the river, and Martinez's king high was still best. He scooped the pot and doubled up.
