Welcome to Day 1 of Event #66: $1,000 Mini Main Event No-Limit Hold’em

Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Just days before the start of the $10,000 buy-in Main Event, poker players from around the world have a date with the Mini Main Event, which is nothing but a carbon copy of its big brother, but with shorter levels.

Cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. PDT and players will begin with 60,000 chips and blinds starting at 100/200/200.

Last November, Georgios Sotiropoulos won this tournament in front of a field of 3,821 registrants and collected $432,575 and his third WSOP gold bracelet.

Levels are all 30 minutes long with a 20-minute break after every four levels on Day 1 and a 75-minute dinner break after Level 12 (about 5:40 p.m.). Late registration is open through the first 12 levels and dinner break, until approximately 6:55 p.m. local time. Day 1 play will end after Level 22, at which time remaining players will bag and tag their chips for Day 2.
