Stanford Wins the Battle of Raises

Level 5 : 1,000/1,500, 0 ante

William Stanford opened to 5,000 on the button and Max Kruse three-bet to 17,000 in the big blind. Stanford just called and the dealer spread the flop of {k-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts}.

Kruse continued with a bet of 16,000 and Stanford raised to 53,000. Kruse called and the {2-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Kruse checked this time and Stanford announced a bet of 84,000. Kruse mulled it over but decided to dump his cards in the muck.

"I was hoping you had aces," Stanford said. "Or ace-king."
