Shahar Hits Running Straight to Survive

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

After a raise to 2,500 from late position and a call from the cutoff, the button reraised to 9,000. Ran Shahar, from the big blind, four bet jammed for 14,400. Late position and the cutoff got out of the way before the button snap called with Shahar covered.

Ran Shahar: {4-Spades}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

Shahar was dominated, but the {2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop gave him backdoor straight and flush draws. The {6-Hearts} turn moved him closer to that straight and then the {3-Spades} came on the river to complete his six high straight. His opponent was left with just ace high, and Shahar doubled up and survived.
