Buchanan Finishes Off Hellmuth

Pot-Limit Omaha

Phil Hellmuth was all in for his last 1,700 from the small blind and up against big blind Shawn Buchanan.

Phil Hellmuth: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Shawn Buchanan: {6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Buchanan made a pair of sixes to win the pot and eliminate Hellmuth.

A few hands earlier, Hellmuth had lost a big pot to Josh Arieh, then berated the reigning Player of the Year to the extent that Arieh called the floor over to give Hellmuth a warning.

After his bustout, Hellmuth went up to Arieh and apologized. "I'm going to throw up in the other room," Hellmuth said as he also shook the hand of Buchanan.
