Johnson Plays Wrong Game, Still Wins

Level 3 : 400/800, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Stephen Johnson: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}/{x-}
Dean Joe: {x-}{x-}/{9-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}/{x-}

Stephen Johnson played a hand of Stud Hi against Dean Joe thinking they were playing Stud Hi-Lo, but he was still able to win the pot.

Joe bet on fifth and sixth streets as Johnson called. Joe stood up from his seat to check if Johnson had a pair showing as they headed to seventh.

"This whole hand is chaos," Johnson said before leading out.

"You can't be bluffing," Joe said before mucking two kings.

"Did you really think we were playing Stud Hi-Lo," a tablemate asked Johnson after the hand.

"I did," Johnson replied, stating he had a pair of jacks. "I was wondering why he raised a nine, that's the only reason I defended."
