Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner and Costa Rica's biggest all-time earner Humberto Brenes has caused quite a stir on Thursday night.

His trademark personality has been on full display all night and his table have enjoyed his antics, despite him collecting their chips.

In his last hand, a player in late position opened to 7,000 and Brenes three-bet to 21,000. His opponent scoffed and said "I'll get you next time."

In response, Brenes flipped over the {a-Clubs} and yelled "Ohhhhhhh?" as he made a shark-like motion with the card towards his opponent before flipping over the {q-Spades} and giving the table a wink.

His opponent claims to have folded {a-}{j-} as he sent 7,000 chips to "The Shark", who is thoroughly enjoying a successful Day 1b.

2004 Main Event Champion Greg Raymer is back for Day 1b of the Seniors Championship after failing to bag in Day 1a, although he still put on quite a performance. After seeing his chip stack reduced to a single 100 chip yesterday, he managed to run his stack back up to over 26,000 before his eventual elimination. So far in Day 1b, he's off to a much better start.

"Night and day," he told PokerNews, "Yesterday I lost half my stack on my first hand, today I doubled up on my first hand."

Action was picked up after a raise to 1,000 from Chris Papastratis in early position and a call from another player. Then, Cedric Darrett glanced over at Papastratis stack and raised it to 13,000.

It was about Papastratis' remaining stack, and he decided to call it off to put himself at risk. The other player folded.

Chris Papastratis: {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Cedric Darrett: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}

The dealer fanned out a {9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} board and Darrett made a set of sixes on the turn to eliminate Papastratis.

Day 1b of Event #47: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship at the 2022 World Series of Poker begins today at 10 a.m. local time at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas.

Robert McMillan is the reigning champion. He kicked the tournament off by offering some words of wisdom to the seniors after being introduced by tournament directors on the stage in Paris before flight A kicked off. McMillan overcame a field of 5,404 total entrants to capture the WSOP gold bracelet and a cash of $561,060, the largest of his career. McMillan failed to bag on Day 1a, but could still return today to make another run at defending his title.

A total of 5,121 players have already registered for entry, with 3,206 entering yesterday's starting flight. With late registration open through the end of the dinner break, this year's tournament should easily exceed last year's.

Play today will consist of eleven levels, each lasting 60 minutes. A 20-minute break is scheduled for every two levels, with a 75-minute dinner break after Level 8, expected to be around 7 p.m. local time, after which late registration will close.

Players must be at least 50 years of age to be eligible and can reenter a maximum of once per flight. Players will start the day with 20,000 in chips. Those who manage to survive to the end of Day 1b will join those 607 players who bagged on Day 1a for Day 2 on Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m. local time.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the action to see who will be taking this down at the end of the road.
