Covert Doubles Up on Small Pair

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The preflop action folded around to Ron Covert in the hijack. He moved all in for 300,000, and got one caller from the button, who had him covered.

Ron Covert: {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Button: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Covert was behind, but that changed quickly when the {5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop gave him top pair and a gutshot. "That's good for you," Kathy Liebert told him from the seat directly to his right. The {k-Spades} turn changed nothing, as did the {8-Diamonds} river.

Covert let out a loud "YES!" as the river hit the table, before raking in the pot and doubling his stack.
