Metivier Doubles Up

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Tim Metivier opened from under the gun for 600. He got calls from early position, late position, and both blinds, making it five-way action to the flop.

On the {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} flop, the big blind led out for 800, then Metivier moved all in for 6,700. Action folded back around to the big blind who, after a count from the dealer, made the call with Metivier covered.

Tim Metivier: {7-Spades}{9-Spades}
Big blind: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

His opponent had flopped top pair, but it was no good against Metivier's trips. The runout of {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} improved Metivier to a full house and he scooped the pot to double his stack.

Elsewhere at the table, defending champion Robert McMillan has continued his hot start, with one of the biggest stacks in the room sitting in front of him.
