Eric Smidinger
Eric Smidinger

Ben Sarnoff opened for 2,500,000 from the button and Eric Smidinger called from the big blind.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{8-Spades} and both players tapped the table.

On the {j-Clubs} turn, Smidinger bet 2,000,000. Sarnoff announced all in and Smidinger snap-called.

Eric Smidinger: {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Ben Sarnoff: {j-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}

Though Sarnoff had turned two pair, Smidinger turned a straight and it held on the {4-Diamonds} river.

Level 39 : 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Ben Sarnoff
Ben Sarnoff

Eric Smidinger raised to 2,700,000 from the small blind and Ben Sarnoff called from the big blind. The flop came {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Smidinger continued with a bet of 800,000 that the dealer allowed. Sarnoff called and the {8-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Smidinger counted out another bet of 4,600,000 this time and Sarnoff stuck around to see the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Smidinger pushed out a bet of 5,000,000 and Sarnoff raised to 13,000,000. Smidinger thought for a couple of minutes before making the call. Sarnoff turned over {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for two pair and Smidinger had to muck his cards.

Biagio Morciano Eliminated in 4th Place ($244,664)

Level 39 : 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Biagio Morciano
Biagio Morciano

Biagio Morciano was the shortest stack at the table and moved all in for 10,600,000 from the cutoff. Eric Smidinger slid out enough chips to call on the button and the blinds folded.

Biagio Morciano: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Eric Smidinger: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

It was a fair fight heading to the flop of {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts} where Smidinger held on to the lead. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave Morciano some more outs but the {k-Hearts} on the river paired the board and the Italian was eliminated in fourth place.

Sarnoff Keeps Climbing

Level 38 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

Eric Smidinger limped in from the small blind and Ben Sarnoff made it 3,500,000 to go from the big blind. Smidinger called and the dealer spread the flop of {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Smidinger checked to Sarnoff who continued with a bet of 3,500,000 and Smidinger quickly folded.

A couple of hands later, Sarnoff raised to 2,000,000 on the button and Biagio Morciano called from the big blind. The flop came {j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} and both players checked to the {3-Hearts} on the turn.

Morciano checked again and Sarnoff splashed in a bet of 4,500,000. Morciano instantly folded and Sarnoff scooped another pot.

Kathy Liebert Eliminated in 5th Place ($186,541)

Level 38 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Kathy Liebert
Kathy Liebert

Kathy Liebert moved nearly all in from the hijack for 5,700,000 of her remaining 5,800,000. Ben Sarnoff raised to 11,400,000 from the cutoff. Liebert flicked in her remaining blue chip.

Kathy Liebert: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Ben Sarnoff: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

In a cruel twist of fate, Liebert ran her kings into Sarnoff's aces.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Liebert had to settle for fifth place and $186,541 despite coming into the day third in chips.

Liebert Left with Crumbs

Level 38 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

Eric Smidinger raised to 2,300,000 from the small blind and Kathy Liebert called from the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Smidinger led out with a bet of 2,000,000. Liebert went into the tank for nearly two minutes before finally folding.

On the next orbit, Ben Sarnoff opened to 2,000,000 from under the gun and Liebert defended from the big blind. The flop fell {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} and Liebert checked to Sarnoff who slid out a stack of chips.

Liebert was put to the test for her remaining 6,300,000 chips and once again she hit the tank. Liebert thought for over three minutes this time, standing up to look at the board and continuously counting her chips. After numerous questions posed to Sarnoff, she finally threw her cards away.

Mitchell Doubles Up Through Sarnoff

Level 38 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Charles Mitchell
Charles Mitchell

Ben Sarnoff opened for 2,000,000 from the cutoff and Charles Mitchell shoved for 10,000,000. It folded around back to Sarnoff, who asked for a count before muttering "Let's play" and putting the chips in.

Charles Mitchell: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Ben Sarnoff: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Mitchell was flipping as a slight favorite and enjoyed a beautiful {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} flop to go way out in front.

However, the {10-Hearts} turn provided a river sweat for Mitchell and his rail.

The river was the {10-Spades}, giving Mitchell a full house, a full double, and denying the rest of the table a $58,123 pay jump.
