Hansen on Wrong End of Brutal River

Level 14 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Soeren Baekgaard Hansen hit a fortunate river to double up earlier, but he just found out that a little luck goes both ways.

WSOP circuit ring winner Clint Mooney was all in for 65,000 with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and up against Hansen's {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

"That's the hand I won my circuit ring with," Mooney said when he saw Hansen's nines.

The {3-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Clubs} board was harmless for Hansen, until the {a-Clubs} fell on the river. Mooney leaped from his seat and clapped his hands together while a stunned Hansen could only wait for the stacks to be counted down.

He couldn't cover Mooney and joined a long list of players to head for the exit after dinner break.
