Ronconi Gets a Double

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Darryl Ronconi
Darryl Ronconi

Darryl Ronconi, who finished second in last year's WSOP Event #17: $1,500 Millionaire Maker for $500,125, is enjoying another deep run in a large field WSOP bracelet event. Action folded to Jongwook Lee on the button who opened. Darryl Ronconi in the small blind responded with a three-bet shove, which Lee, after some consideration, called to put Ronconi at risk.

"We're flipping?" asked Ronconi before the cards had been turned over.

Darryl Ronconi: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Jongwook Lee: {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

The players were not in fact flipping, with Ronconi holding a fairly comfortable lead over his opponent. That lead only strengthened after the {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop. No help came for Lee on the {a-Spades} turn or {k-Spades} river, handing Ronconi a crucial double up while Lee dipped below 1,000,000.

Hulme Out-Flops Lotfi

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jim Lotfi moved all in for his last 300,000 and Andrew Hulme called.

Jim Lotfi: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Andrew Hulme: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Hulme needed help and got it as the flop brought {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}, giving him a pair of queens. The {k-Diamonds} turn gave Lotfi some hope with a straight draw, but he didn't get the help he needed as the river came {8-Spades} and Lotfi hit the rail.

Ribeiro's Ascent Continues

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Anthony Ribeiro
Anthony Ribeiro

Anthony Ribeiro has enjoyed a red-hot start to the day, felting several opponents over a short period of time. Gabriel Wood shoved from middle position and Ribeiro made the call on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Wood was officially at risk.

Gabriel Wood: {a-}{j-}
Anthony Ribeiro: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Wood was dominated and would need significant help to survive. That help could not be found on the {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, but he did pick up one extra out on the {q-Diamonds} turn, which while removing his jacks as a path to victory did give him a gutshot. That gutshot did not come in, however, on the {5-Diamonds} river, sending Wood to the payout desk while Ribeiro continues to stack his opponents.

Cummings Wins the Flip

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Thomas Matacale shoved for about 335,000 and Nathan Cummings wasted no time announcing he was all in as well, next to act, and the table quickly folded behind.

Thomas Matacale: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Nathan Cummings: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

It was a flip and Matacale couldn't catch as the board ran out {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}, eliminating him from the tournament.

Luck is on Moorman's Side

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Chris Moorman
Chris Moorman

Tytus Kalberer shoved for 575,000 from the cutoff before Mitchell Hecht reshoved from the small blind for around 1,200,000. Chris Moorman in the big blind considered the decision for a moment before announcing a call.

Tytus Kalberer: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Mitchell Hecht: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Chris Moorman: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Hecht's pocket aces were a big favorite to take out Kalberer and double up off Moorman as the flop came {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. The {10-Clubs} on the turn gave Moorman additional outs to a straight.

When the {8-Spades} fell on the river, the entire table let out a collective gasp as Moorman made his straight to knock out both players.

"Mr. Moorman. They told me you were good. They didn't tell me you were so lucky," tablemate David Perry said following the hand as Moorman stacked up more than 4,000,000.

Woodworth All In for "Three Million"

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Michael Woodworth was all in on an extreme short stack and up against Manelic Minaya and Nissar Quraishi.

"Should be about 3,000,000," Woodworth joked as the dealer gathered in the pot. Minaya and Quraishi checked down the {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} board.

"I have a four. Is that any good," Woodworth asked, showing {j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

Minaya had {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}, but Quraishi showed {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for the rivered pair of queens to bust Woodworth.

Perry Shows Quads

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

On the river with the board reading {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, Brandon Powers bet 125,000 into the pot of about 520,000.

John Perry took a few moments before raising to 600,000. Powers tanked for a few seconds and mucked his hand.

"You said I was on a heater right?" Perry said as he tabled {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for quad queens as he dragged the pot.

Covert Busts Kido Blind vs. Blind

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Action folded to Lindsay Kido in the small blind who shoved for her last 560,000. Robert Covert in the big blind called as they went heads-up.

Lindsay Kido: {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Robert Covert: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The {10-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop gave Kido a no-good straight draw and she improved no further on the {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} turn and river to become the latest to make their way to the payout desk.
