Ivey and Ponakovs Trade the Opening Pots

Level 22 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs opened to 750,000 on the button with {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Phil Ivey called out of the big blind with {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}. The flop came {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and both players checked to the {4-Spades} on the turn. Ivey fired out a bet of 800,000 and Ponakovs quickly threw his cards to the muck.

On the next hand, Ivey raised to 700,000 with {j-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Ponakovs three-bet to 2,500,000 with {a-Spades}{9-Spades} in the big blind. Ivey was the one to fold this time and the two traded pots in the early going.
