Eslami Finally Sent Home in Flurry of Post-Dinner Eliminations

Level 15
Ali Eslami
Ali Eslami

Ali Eslami's run toward the money after coming back from a single chip has fallen short.

He recently left the tournament floor, with his executioner Ziya Rahim, who's working on his own comeback story after being down to less than a big bet on Day 1, telling the tale.

Eslami put in his last 10,000 chips and was raised by Rahim. The rest of the table folded.

Eslami started with {q-}{q-}/{a-} against Rahim's {7-}{3-}/{a-}.

By the time the boards were completed, Rahim had made threes full of aces while Eslami had two pair, aces over fours, sending the $1,500 champion home short of the money.

Andrew Brown and Jason Gola were also eliminated at adjacent tables, bringing the field to a three-table redraw.

Action picked up after five bets were put in in a three-way pot with John Racener all in on third street.

Brunson bet on fourth street when he hit a king, Bronshtein made the call.

On fifth, Brunson bet again and Bronshtein thought hard with less than two big bets left. He ended up going with his hand and raised. Brunson called.

"Are you rolled up?" asked Bronshtein.

Brunson was, and he ended up with a full house.

Bronshtein hit a low to stay alive while Racener was left with nothing and headed for the rail short of the money.

Bets went in on the following streets, with only Eveslage left at showdown, who showed an ace-high flush to beat Rahim's two pair of kings and sixes.

Rubinstein actually made a queen-high flush, but it was the inferior flush to Eveslage, and he was sent to to the rail, setting up hand-for-hand play on the bubble.

On sixth street, Deeb fired again picking up a fourth low card with a seven, while Kurtzman got a jack. Kurtzman decided to fold at that point sending a large pot to Deeb which sends him over 1,000,000 chips.

Chad Eveslage: {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}/{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{x-}
Steven Loube: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs} - folded fifth street

Eric Wasserson raised the bring-in on third street and was then re-raised by Chad Eveslage showing a nine. With playful surprise, Wasserson said "what the f***" then Steven Loube called with a five and Wasserson called as well.

On fourth street Wasserson pulled a nine, while Eveslage and Loube each got an eight. Wasserson checked to Eveslage, who bet, prompting another joking "what the f***" from Wasserson. Loube and Wasserson laughed then called to see fifth street.

On fifth, Eveslage picked up another nine. Eveslage bet his pair of nines, Loube folded and then Wasserson came with a raise.

Eveslage called, then on sixth street check-called a bet from Wasserson.

On seventh Eveslage check-called once more, for Wasserson to declare, "flush and a wheel."

Eveslage tossed his red aces in the hole into the muck as the largest pot of the level went to Wasserson.

"I have a flush," announced Eveslage.

That was no good, though, as Loube showed his full house for the scoop.

Friedman had four clubs and king high, which was ahead all the way through sixth street.

"Just tell me if I need to improve," said Friedman as seventh was dealt.

"I've got a low," said Tran as he revealed the ace.

"And ace high," noted Friedman, who was now behind and looking at his final card.

He found no help on seventh and was eliminated.
