Kihara Finds a Straight Against Two Cowboys

Level 24
Naoya Kihara
Naoya Kihara

No-Limit Hold 'Em

Nicolas Fountotos was looking for a double, and he found his chance in No-Limit Hold 'Em. From late position, he jammed his last 29,000, just under three big blinds in the game. Action folded to Naoya Kihara who made the call from the big blind.

"I have a premium," said Fountotos, who rolled over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} at the right time. Kihara showed {q-Spades}{3-Spades}.

Fountotos was feeling good before the flop, but the {a-}{2-}{5-} put some fear into him.

"Oh, no," were the only words he could get out before the {4-} landed on the turn to have him drawing dead to a chop.

The {10-} river sealed his fate and ended his evening.

Josh Tabak was all in by fifth street and up against Norman Chad and Brad Ruben.

Josh Tabak: {x-}{x-}/{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}/{x-}
Norman Chad: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}/{x-}
Brad Ruben: {x-}{x-}/{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}/{x-}

Ruben bet and both sixth and seventh streets, with Chad coming along with a call.

"I have a wheel," Ruben announced, turning over {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}.

"A wheel? That's pretty darn good," Chad said as he mucked his board.

"I started with the wheel. There's no skill in that," Ruben responded as he took the big pot off Chad and knocked out Tabak.

James Carr Eliminated in 18th Place ($4,850)

Level 24

Big O

In a three-way pot with the board showing {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Brian Rast bet and Alfred Atamian moved all in for 222,000.

"This is a pretty big pot right here," Rast said.

"Alright, I guess I'll go home," James Carr said as he moved all in for less. Rast called both players.

James Carr: {6-Spades}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Alfred Atamian: {3-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Brian Rast: {j-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

The river came the {7-Diamonds}, leaving Rast with two pair queens and fives, Atamian with a low, and Carr with nothing but a payout slip for his 18th place finish.

Rast Trips Up Kihara

Level 24
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Five-Card Draw

With a pot of about 150,000 pre-draw, both Brian Rast and Naoya Kihara each drew one card.

Out of position, Rast was first to act. He assembled a large bet of 125,000 and slid the chips into the middle.

Kihara thought for about thirty seconds before making the call.

"Three eights," announced Rast, and showed {8-}{8-}{8-}{6-}{2-}.

"Eights?" asked Kihara, implying the number mattered. He laid down three cards face down before throwing all five cards into the muck.

Chad Rings in a Quadruple-Up

Level 25
Norman Chad
Norman Chad

A-5 Triple Draw

Norman Chad raised before the draw and Jorge Walker three-bet. Adam Friedman called, as did Christopher Roman and Chad.

Friedman, Roman, and Chad took one, while Walker drew two. Friedman bet, Roman called, Chad called all in for less, and Walker stuck around to the second draw.

Friedman stood pat and bet again. "He has a betting disorder," Chad said as Roman and Walker called again.

Chad rang his bell and placed it in the middle as all three players checked after the third draw. Chad turned over {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} to scoop the main pot, while Friedman took the side pot with a lesser ace.
