Ruben Wins a Pot He Admits He Shouldn't Have

Level 22
Brad Ruben
Brad Ruben

Stud 8

Kevin Thomas: {x-}{x-}/{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}/-folded
William Lahti: {x-}{x-}/{k-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}/-folded
Brad Ruben: {6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}/{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades}/{x-}
Josh Tabak: {x-}{x-}/{q-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}/{x-}

Four players were in the pot on fourth street. Kevin Thomas bet, and was immediately raised by Brad Ruben to his left. William Lahti, Josh Tabak, and Thomas all called.

On fifth street, Thomas checked, Ruben bet again, and all three other players called once more.

On sixth, Thomas checked, Ruben bet, but this time only Tabak called and took the hand to seventh.

On seventh, Ruben moved his last 17,000 in blind and Tabak called.

"Aces up with a missed low and flush draw," said Tabak.

That was good enough to scoop the pot as Tabak missed his low as well.

"I know, I don't deserve to win that pot," said Ruben.

"Floor," yelled another player who mockingly agreed with Ruben.

"Hey lowlife," chimed in Norman Chad.

"Why did I look up when he said that?" laughed Ruben.

"You're over there criticizing, you were just down to the felt," as Chad pointed to his own wall of chips.
