Wong Check-Raises Hellmuth

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 7,500 ante

Phil Hellmuth raised to 17,000 under the gun, Thomas Newton called on the button, and Jerry Wong called in the small blind.

Wong drew one, Hellmuth drew one, and Newton stood pat.

Wong checked, Hellmuth bet 19,000, Newton folded, and Wong check-raised to 70,000.

"Doesn't make sense... what are you doing?" Hellmuth asked while contemplating as Wong stared straight ahead.

Ultimately, Hellmuth called and was shown Wong's {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. Hellmuth sent his cards into the muck as he went on a trademarked muttered tirade under his breath.

"Who are you talking to?" inquired Wong, causing Scott Seiver to burst out laughing.
