Williams Doubles Up Through Ahn

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Cy Williams moved all in from the big blind for 255,000. Paul Ahn moved all in as well, for a bit north of 3,000,000. Christophe Panetti took some time, but eventually made the reluctant lay down, letting Ahn and Williams showdown.

Cy Williams: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Paul Ahn: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

After their hands were tabled, Ahn asked Panetti if they'd have been flipping, to which Panetti told him no, he would have been ahead with ace-jack offsuit.

The board came {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, pairing Williams' jack on the turn, putting him out in front, and securing him the pot and double up, taking a chunk out of Ahn's stack, which remains one of the biggest in the field.

Sova Takes the Lead

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
John Sova
John Sova

On a completed board of {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs}, John Sova bet into his two opponents for 200,000. He was then raised to 600,000 by Phong Truong and Parminder Kumar called behind.

Sova then shoved all in, covering both, which produced a fold from Truong and sent Kumar into the tank.

"I'll show you, either way,'" Sova told Kumar.

"Ok, nice hand buddy," Kumar replied as he set out calling chips.

Sova showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for the nut straight and Kumar flashed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} before he sent them into the muck. Kumar was eliminated and Sova was made chipleader with 5,800,000.

Bauer Outkicks Shih for Knockout

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

After Alain Bauer moved all in from the button, he received one caller, Kenny Shih in the big blind. Bauer had Shih covered and they tabled their hands.

Kenny Shih: {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Alain Bauer: {k-Hearts}{a-Hearts}

The {6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} gave Bauer top pair top kicker, and left Shih drawing thin. The {2-Spades}{2-Hearts} runout did not change much, and Bauer scooped the pot thanks to his ace kicker, while Shih headed for the rail.

McDermott Crushes a Non-Believer

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

On a heads-up turn of {8-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, Timothy McDermott moved all in against his opponent, Daniel Kusnerak. After a few moments of thought, Kusnerak made the call, putting himself at risk.

Daniel Kusnerak: {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Timothy McDermott: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Although Kusnerak was way behind, any seven, eight, or nine river card would give him the win. Unfortunately for him, the {4-Diamonds} river was no help and Kusnerak was eliminated as McDermott increased his chip count to 3,500,000
