Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Chen-An Lin shoved under the gun with calls from Punnat Punsri in early position and Tyler Gaston in the big blind.

Gaston and Punsri decided to check down on the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts} board. Gaston showed {4-}{4-} for the winner while both his opponents had {a-}{q-} to eliminate Lin from the tournament.

Von Guttenberg's Set Knocks Out Vohra

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Raj Vohra moved all in from the small blind with the effective stack of about 575,000. Eric Von Guttenberg made the snap call from the big blind and the two were off to the races.

Raj Vohra: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Eric Von Guttenberg: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop gave Vohra a pair of jacks, but improved Von Guttenberg to a set, leaving Vohra drawing thin. The {8-Clubs} turn and {9-Clubs} river offered no help to Vohra, who was sent to the rail. Vohra won his first WSOP bracelet just a couple weeks ago, winning the $600 deep stack, but his pursuit of his second came up short in this event.

Straight Over Straight Eliminates Bauer

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

PokerNews missed this crazy hand, but was well-informed after the fact by the table and a few spectators.

Alain Bauer opened from the button to 120,000 and found one call from Yita Choong in the big blind.

On the flop of {8-}{9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Choong check-called another bet of 250,000 from Bauer.

The {k-Clubs} turn saw Choong check and Baur blast away, this time for 850,000. The table said he was even trying to goad Choong into going all in by saying something like, "Come on you can raise we can get it all in if you want". So that's exactly what Choong did by ripping it all in for 2,500,000 more, covering Bauer.

Bauer kept true to his word and called it off, putting himself at risk.

Choong tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a king-high straight and Bauer showed {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a ten-high flush

The river {5-Clubs} did absolutely nothing and Bauer was eliminated. Choong raked in the massive pot that boosted him to the top of the leaderboard.
