Play has ended on Day 2 of Event #32: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E, and after 10 hour-long levels, it is David Williams who takes the chip lead into the final day.

Williams bagged up 2,125,000 and is poised to snap a long drought without a bracelet. The 2004 Main Event runner-up has nearly $5 million in career WSOP earnings, but his lone bracelet came 16 years ago in a Seven Card Stud event.

Jason Daly found himself at the center of controversy when he took a seat at the wrong table. Since he had already played a hand, the tournament officials allowed him to stay there, and he went on to bust Lawrence Berg and Amnon Filippi in a massive pot to finish in second place in the chip counts with 2,015,000. Two women are in the top-five: Michelle Roth (1,405,000) and poker industry veteran Shirley Rosario (1,170,000)

Rising Japanese star Tamon Nakamura came into the day with the chip lead and managed to bag up 1,005,000 as he tries to win his first bracelet. Record producer and bracelet winner Steven Albini (970,000) and Steven Loube (900,000), a 2012 bracelet winner, are also still alive.

Day 2 began with 249 hopefuls remaining out of a starting field of 773 players. Daniel Negreanu, Michael Mizrachi, and defending champion Anthony Zinno would have their day cut short before the money was reached at 116 players.

Once the bubble burst, Mike Matusow (76th), Ari Engel (54th), and German soccer pro Max Kruse (52nd) would find their way to the payout desk. Phil Ivey briefly moved into the top-five in the chip counts after busting Allyn Shulman but lost most of his chips in an Omaha 8 or Better pot against Williams and was eliminated in 26th place.

The final 22 players will return on June 17 at noon local time inside the Bally’s Event Center to play down to a champion. PokerNews will be along the entire way until a new mixed game specialist is crowned.

Tim Marsters Eliminated in 23rd Place ($6,542)

Stud 8 or Better

On the last hand of the night, Tim Marsters and Jamie McCarrel were all in on third street and up against Steven Albini. McCarrel had Marsters covered by 40,000.

Tim Marsters: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{x-}
Jamie McCarrel: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Steven Albini: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Albini's three sevens were enough to take the high pot, while McCarrel made an 8-6-4-3-A for the low. Marsters was left with a pair of aces and mucked his last card before wishing the table luck and heading for the exit.

Ivey's Set Takes Out Shulman

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 2,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Limit Hold'em

Tom Schneider opened the pot with a raise and Allyn Shulman three-bet in middle position. From the button, Phil Ivey four-bet and both Schneider and Shulman called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and action checked to Ivey, who put out a bet. Both opponents called.

Ivey bet again on the {2-Clubs} turn and that was enough to get rid of Schneider. Shulman, though, pushed all in and Ivey snap-called.

Shulman showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} but was in big trouble against Ivey's {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a set of jacks. The river came the {6-Diamonds} and Ivey sent the bracelet winner to the rail while raking up more than 500,000 chips.

Ivey Turns a Flush to Bust Savakinas, Take From Rightmire

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Limit Hold'em

Michael Savakinas was already all in before the flop as Phil Ivey on the button and Robin Rightmire in the big blind went to the flop.

Rightmire bet the {2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop and Ivey called. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and Rightmire bet again.

Ivey came back with a raise and Rightmire called. He check-called another bet on the {2-Spades} river.

"King-high good," Savakinas jokingly asked as he turned over {k-Spades}{8-Spades}. Ivey showed {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for the turned flush as Rightmire mucked, giving the 10-time bracelet winner the knockout and a big side pot.
