Wasserson Fights Back

Level 23

Brian Hastings raised on the button and Eric Wasserson three-bet from the big blind. Hastings responded with a four-bet, which Wasserson called.

Both players drew one card on the initial draw. Action then checked through to the second draw, where again each player took just one card. Wasserson checked for a second time and Hastings led out. Wasserson made the call to send the two players to the final draw.

Wasserson took one more card during the final draw and then checked to Hastings, who had stood pat. Hastings checked behind and announced "Nine-Six". Wasserson, however, held the superior {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. "Nice check," he commented, raking in the pot to reduce the chip deficit.
