Hastings Extends Lead

Level 23

Brian Hastings limped from the button and Eric Wasserson raised. Hastings made the call to send the two players to the initial draw.

Both drew two cards on the first draw, after which Wasserson led out and was called.

The second draw saw each player take just one card. Wasserson slowed down, checking to Hastings who bet. After a brief pause, Wasserson called.

Wasserson again drew one card during the final draw and then checked to Hastings, who had stood pat. Hastings bet out and Wasserson wasted little time calling. He was shown {9-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} by Hastings, a hand he could not beat.

A short while later, after the second draw, Wasserson bet and Hastings called. Wasserson stood pat and Hastings drew one. Wasserson bet and Hastings called.

"You got it," said Wasserson and Hastings showed {9-}{8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}. Wasserson open-mucked {4-}{4-}{4-} and Hastings opened up his biggest lead of heads-up so far.
