Jouhkimainen Wisely Checks Back

Level 19 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Aaron Mermelstein limped in from under the gun and Joni Jouhkimainen did the same on his left. James Park checked the big blind and the three players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}.

Mermelstein was the first to make a bet of 100,000 and only Jouhkimainen called. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Mermelstein cut out a bet of 300,000. Jouhkimainen still called and the {5-Hearts} paired the board on the river.

Mermelstein checked this time and Jouhkimainen gave it some thought but checked it back. Luckily for him he did so, as Mermelstein flipped over {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Spades} for the nut full house to win the pot.
