Villaman Survives
Christopher Heafner raised from the cutoff and action folded to Ray Villaman in the small blind who three-bet, leaving himself with just crumbs behind. Heafner called to send the two players heads up to the initial draw.
Villaman took one card while Heafner drew two after which Villaman shoved his last few chips into the middle and was officially at risk once Heafner made the call.
On the second draw Villaman took another card while Heafner stood pat. The final draw saw a reversal of action, with Villaman standing pat and Heafner opting to draw one. Villaman showed down a nine-eight much to the chagrin of Heafner who exclaimed that he had broken a nine-seven. Villaman was not safe yet, however, but Heafner, holding a deuce in is hand, peeled a second two to ensure that Villaman survived.
