Dirksen, Marin Tangle as Chip Leader Steps Aside

Level 12 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Day 1 chip leader James Opie raised from under the gun and got calls from Roberto Marin, Peter Dirksen, and Cary Katz.

Dirksen and Opie drew two, Katz took three, while Marin took only one. Marin opened the betting and Katz and Dirksen called, while Opie folded.

Marin bet again after drawing one and only Dirksen stuck around to the third draw. "Nuts," Marin announced as he drew one.

Dirksen also drew one and led out with a bet. "I don't think you have the nuts," he countered.

Marin, indeed, did not have the nuts as he folded after some consideration.
