Vertes Sends Rich to the Rail with Flopped Flush

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was picked up with 90,000 in the middle and a {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board.

Cody Rich, the big blind, had already moved all in with the effective stack of 80,800, leaving Jeff Vertes, the under-the-gun player, with the decision. He took his time making that decision, seeming to have trouble figuring out what hand Rich would have played this way. After the hand, Vertes explained that Rich had "just called on every street" to this point, helping build that 90,000 pot already sitting in the center. Vertes eventually found the call, and the players tabled their hands.

Cody Rich: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Jeff Vertes: {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Rich quickly gathered his things and left. As Vertes scooped the pot, he seemed in disbelief, muttering "What just happened?" to himself.
