Cada Loses Chunk to Soma After Tanking

Level 30 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

Joe Cada raised to 325,000 from the button for Leo Soma to defend his big blind.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, Soma checked, Cada continued with a bet of 275,000. Soma responded with a raise to 850,000. Cada considered it for a bit and then made the call.

The turn was the {8-Clubs} and Soma barreled a bet of 2,250,000 over the line. Cada thought about it for a while and then made another call.

The river completed the board with the {5-Spades} and Soma fired a stack of chips into the pot, worth, 2,500,000.

"Sickest river!" Cada commented.

Cada tanked for almost two minutes, he looked at his cards once more, cut out calling chips, looked at the remainder of the stack.

"Sorry," he muttered but Ryan Jones said it was okay.

In the end, Cada folded.

"Show the bluff!" Soma's rail chanted and he showed the {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for the pair of sevens.

"I had a nine," Cada shrugged.

Leonard August Eliminated in 9th Place ($46,496)

Level 30 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Leonard August
Leonard August

Leonard August raised to 450,000 from the small blind after action had been folded to him. Thomas Schultz, the big blind, made the call.

August fired for 400,000 on the {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop. Schultz raised him to 1,000,000. After a moment to gather his thoughts, August announced that he was all in. Schultz, with August just slightly covered, made the call.

Leonard August: {7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Thomas Schultz: {8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Schultz had flopped trips, but August had plenty of outs with his flush draw. Those outs never came, however, as the board finished {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, securing the pot for Schultz.

Leonard August was sent to the rail in 9th place, for which he'll take home a cash of $46,496.

One for Soma

Level 30 : 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Leo Soma raised to 325,000 from under the gun and only Ryan Jones made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Jones check-called the 300,000 continuation bet of Soma.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Jones checked again. This time, Soma bet 1,100,000. Jones stared at Soma for a while but opted to fold in the end.

Ronit Chamani in the hijack position pushed all in for around 500,000 and Javier Garcirreynaldos in the cutoff went all in for 1,500,000. Leo Soma on the button had them both covered and called:

Ronit Chamani: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Gallardo Flops a Straight Flush

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Leonard August opened the action to 275,000 from under the gun. Daniel Wellborn and Maximiliano Gallardo, in the small and big blinds respectively, both called.

On the {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, August fired again for 500,000. Wellborn got out of the way before Gallardo made the call.

The {a-Hearts} turn was checked through before Gallardo fired 700,000 on the {3-Clubs} river. After taking some time, August made the call.

Gallardo quickly turned over {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, giving him the straight flush and the pot.
