Fox Flops a Set on Koon

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Elio Fox
Elio Fox

"This is gonna be the summer Jason, starting now!" Jason Koon exclaimed as he slammed in a raise of 20,000 from under the gun. However, he was quickly met with a three-bet to 70,000 from Elio Fox on his left. The action folded back to Koon who made the call.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Koon check-called a bet of 20,000 from Fox. The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and Koon checked again. Fox tossed in a bet of 35,000 and Koon check-raised all in for around 110,000. Fox quickly called and tabled {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a set of sixes.

The {2-Diamonds} paired the board on the river to improve Fox to a full house and Koon was eliminated on his first bullet.

Quads for Hunichen

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

Dario Sammartino opened to 22,000 under the gun, Chris Hunichen called in middle position, Chris Brewer called in the cutoff, and Alex Foxen defended the big blind.

The dealer spread the {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Foxen checked, and Sammartino bet 28,000. All three opponents called.

The {2-Hearts} fell on the turn, Foxen checked, Sammartino checked, and Hunichen bet 54,000. Brewer called, Foxen folded, and Sammartino called.

The {k-Clubs} completed the board and Sammartino checked. Hunichen bet 193,000, leaving himself with a single yellow T-1,000 behind. Brewer folded and Sammartino called.

Hunichen tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for flopped quads, while Sammartino showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a flush he didn't want to complete.

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With cards on their backs, Laszlo Bujtas was all-in for 299,000 in the big blind and was at risk against Alexandros Theologis in the cutoff.

Laszlo Bujtas: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Alexandros Theologis: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Bujtas improved to the nut flush to give him the double, while Theologis was left with a single big blind.

Petrangelo Runs Into Badziakouski's Queens

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo just took his seat on his second bullet of the day but unfortunately it didn't last very long. It only took a couple of preflop raises for Petrangelo to get his stack of nearly 300,000 in the middle against Mikita Badziakouski.

Nick Petrangelo: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Mikita Badziakouski: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Not only did Badziakouski hold the higher of the two pocket pairs, but he also had both of the suits covered. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Petrangelo was eliminated from the tournament.

Mateos Eliminated by Vogelsang's Superior Pocket Pair

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang had a green T-25,000 chip over the betting line in early position, Jeremy Ausmus had one over the line in the hijack, and Adrian Mateos moved all-in for approximately 250,000 in the big blind. Vogelsang thought about it and called, while Ausmus folded.

Adrian Mateos: {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Christoph Vogelsang: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Mateos was in rough shape and the {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop changed nothing. The {9-Hearts} turn had him getting up from his seat as the meaningless {8-Diamonds} completed the board to confirm the pot for the German player.

Lichtenberger Bounces Koon

Level 8 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The action folded around to Jason Koon in the small blind who moved in for his last 70,000 chips. Andrew Lichtenberger was in the big blind and quickly called.

Jason Koon: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Andrew Lichtenberger: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} to give Koon a pair of aces but Lichtenberger picked up a flush draw. The {9-Clubs} on the turn gave Lichtenberger his flush and the {9-Hearts} on the river sent Koon to the rail.
