Fireworks for Rast and Kihara?

Level 22

Big O

Naoya Kihara raised in the cutoff to 60,000 and was met by a pot-sized three-bet from Brian Rast on the button for 230,000.

After some thought, Kihara opted to call and the potential for a big pot was brewing.

The flop came {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades} and both players slowed down and checked.

The turn {10-Hearts} paired the board, but also brought no further action as Kihara and Rast checked again.

On the river {3-Clubs}, Kihara checked a final time, and Rast chose to bet 375,000.

Kihara called, and Rast showed {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the nut low.

Kihara then showed {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of aces, which were enough to earn the high half of the pot, as the players chopped what could have been a much bigger and more notable pot.
