Nyberg Leaves Bezpaly With Crumbs

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Nicholas Nyberg was all in preflop for 74,000 and was barely covered by Jonathan Bezpaly who shoved for a bit more, to fold everyone else out.

Nyberg had the crushing advantage with the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} vs the {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} of Bezpaly.

The flop came the {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, the turn was the {7-Hearts} which Nyberg celebrated as he got a set but it actually gave Bezpaly more outs with the straight draw. But the river was the {10-Hearts} to miss the draw and double Nyberg while leaving Bezpaly desperately short stacked.

Schreck Rivered Out.

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jodi Schreck was at risk in a preflop all in holding the {10-}{10-} up against the {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} of William Anderson.

The flop came {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, the turn was the {2-Diamonds} to keep Schreck in the lead but the river was cruel as it came a lady, the {q-Clubs} to pair Anderson and send Schreck to the rail

Chow Doubles Up

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Henry Chow shoved in early position for 66,000 gaining a call from Joseph Lopez on the button. Hands went over and showed:

Henry Chow {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Joseph Lopez {a-Spades}{9-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} which was no help for Lopez and Chow's pair of fours held up.

The Title Will Not Be Defended

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
James Barnett
James Barnett

Action was picked up on the turn with the board reading {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}. Three players were in the hand, as defending champion James "Jimmy" Barnett bet 80,000 from early position into a pot of what looked to be about 120,000, John Divecha on his direct left folded and Brandon West called in the big blind.

The river came the {7-Hearts}. West led-jammed all in and Barnett snap-called.

West tabled the {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the nut flush. Barnett saw the bad news and began to stand up as he showed the {j-Clubs}{10-} straight as his dream of repeating as Casino Employee event champion was dashed just like that early on day 2 thanks to the cooler.

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Christopher Abramski was spotted collecting a double up with his {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} being the winner in a big flip vs the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} of Michael Murray.

The board displayed {4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts} showing that Abramski got the lead on the flop and held it through to the end to collect a double to start the day off right for him.

Of those entries, a total of 82 players will return to the felt at Bally's Ballroom Blue Section to play all the way down to the winner and dole out the first WSOP Bracelet of 2022 and the grand prize of $65,168 out of the $349,440 prize pool.

Of the 82 players who will be aiming for an even deeper run, the chip leader is Shaun Colquhoun who will be bringing a stack of 885,000 to the table today. He is closely followed by Arturo Jimenez who has 848,000 to make for the only two players who start the day with over 100 big blinds.
