Simao Shows a "Straight"

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Joao Simao raised it up from the hijack and picked up three callers along the way. The flop came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and the action checked around to the {10-Hearts} on the turn.

The blinds checked again and Simao finally tossed in a bet of 57,000. The cutoff raised to 150,000 which got both of the blinds to fold but Simao called.

The {q-Spades} paired the board on the river and it also put three spades on the board. Simao announced all in, putting his opponent to the test for his remaining 400,000 chips. He quickly decided to fold and Simao was awarded the pot.

"Straight," Simao announced much to nobody's surprise. He flashed the {9-Diamonds} which was the bottom end of the straight which got some laughs from the table.
