Backpack Trick Leads to Incredible Spin Up

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Julian Sanchez
Julian Sanchez

In the middle of level 8, Julian Sanchez thought he was all-in and eliminated, having put on his backpack and begun walking away from his table.

However, a count revealed he had 2,500 chips left, which would soon be in the middle in the blinds.

According to Sanchez and tablemate Yuri Dzivielevski, Sanchez would survive that all-in and several more, doubling his stack repeatedly, with the encouragement of Dzivielevski to put on the backpack for each all-in.

As word got out of Sanchez's repeated backpack-aided double-ups, offers began coming in from nearby tables who've gotten word of Sanchez's fortunes to buy the backpack for up to $100.

Sanchez has rebuffed these offers, with his latest double-up boosting his stack into more than healthy territory.

In an already meaty pot of over 100,000, on a river board reading {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, Sanchez's opponent, Lauren Carter bet 25,000, and he moved all-in again for 41,000, reaching again for the backpack, but staying in his seat. Carter was pained by the decision but flicked in a call for just 16,000 more.

Sanchez showed {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a full house, while Carter could only show {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}.

Sanchez now sits at over 150,000 as he heads to dinner break.
